Description
West Coast Modern has released more of British Columbia’s most significant architecture than anyone. We release each home the way a publisher releases a book, with an original feature story, architectural photography and film, and a campaign to one of the largest design readerships in North America. Now we’re looking for one person to help us carry it forward.
Why this role exists
We’ve built the platform, the audience and the demand. What we need is a relationship builder: someone who takes every conversation our marketing starts and turns it into a relationship that lasts, from the first call to long after the move.
You’ll start with a book of more than 1,800 homeowners of the region’s most significant houses. Some know us well. Many don’t yet. Turning that potential into relationships is the job.
What you’ll do
- Own sales across West Coast Modern: homeowners thinking about selling, buyers looking for their next home, and every new service we launch.
- Be the educator. Prepare and deliver client presentations, from a homeowner’s first introduction to us through to personal market packages and regular updates, that help them understand our service and the market around their home. You set the strategy, and our admin team handles the routine work.
- Work alongside our co-founder and lead agent at client visits, and our co-founder and marketing director on the campaigns that fill your calendar.
- Represent us in the room, at architecture and design events, gallery openings and our Architectural Tours, and build a referral network across the creative industry: architects, designers, makers and design houses.
- Marketing fills your pipeline, but the best leads come from you. In every conversation, you ask for the next step or an introduction.
How you’ll spend your time
About 80% working our book and your pipeline, and 20% building new relationships, in person and online.
Your path
- Getting licensed: if you aren’t already, you’ll complete your licence in your first six months (we pay, and it’s a requirement of the role) while you learn the book, sit in on client meetings and help build presentations.
- Once licensed: lead your own client calls and presentations. Already licensed? You start here.
- Next: run the client journey end to end with our co-founder and lead agent.
- Then: Head of Sales.
Who you are
- A relationship builder first. You can walk into any room and leave with real connections, and you don’t wait to be told.
- Five or more years in sales or business development. Design showrooms, high-end retail, hospitality, new homes and presales, architectural products, wealth management: wherever you’re building relationships now, we want to talk.
- An analytical mind with a warm touch. You can turn a complex market into something clear, even enjoyable.
- Firm enough to lead a client, and empathetic enough to be trusted with something they love.
- You love design, and you can talk about a house the way its architect would.
- You use AI in your work, or you’re ready to learn fast.
- Licensed in BC, or ready to get licensed in your first six months.
- A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
What we offer
- 80,000 CAD in year one. A 52,000 base salary, with bonuses and revenue share making up the rest while you build your pipeline. Hit your targets and you’ll earn more, with no cap. From year two, it’s your base plus a share of revenue.
- Paid real estate licensing, and a clear path to Head of Sales.
- Paid time off and paid sick leave, and a flexible schedule.
How to apply
Apply through the link with your CV, then answer three short questions: a link to your pitch deck, and two questions about how you work.
The pitch deck: share one you’ve built and are proud of. If you don’t have one, build five slides: an owner of a modern home, mid-century or contemporary, has never heard of West Coast Modern. A friend told them to look us up, so they’ve called. Show us how you’d handle that first conversation.
The questions:
- Tell us about the client relationship you’re proudest of: how you won it, and what came from it.
- How does AI fit into the way you work today? Give one real example.
Finalists complete a short paid project with our team. We review applications as they arrive, and they close Friday, November 13, 2026.
