About Corinex
Corinex is one of the fastest-growing companies in clean technology, ranking in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 list for two consecutive years at 1,303% growth over the last 3 years.
Energy grids around the world are under pressure due to the mass adoption of low-carbon technologies (LCTs). Corinex’s world-leading BPL solutions give energy networks an alternative way to modernize their grid by utilizing existing power line infrastructure for a faster, more economical, and more carbon‑neutral approach.
About The Role
We are seeking a utility-industry-focused Director, Product Marketing to own product positioning, market insight, and go-to-market execution for Corinex’s grid intelligence and digital grid solutions. The ideal candidate brings first-hand experience working within an electricity distribution utility / DSO or directly serving such customers through a grid technology provider.
This is not a traditional generalist marketing role. You will understand how utilities plan, operate, procure, and adopt technology; translate their operational challenges into compelling product value propositions; and work hands-on with Product Development, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing to bring technical solutions to market.
The role covers Corinex’s BPL-based grid visibility and flexibility offerings, Grid Intelligence Node, GridValue, and integrated grid analytics solutions, including Corinex Plexigrid Intelligence developed through our strategic technology partnership. Particular emphasis will be placed on European utility markets, with support for North American expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Utility Market Strategy & Customer Understanding
- Develop a deep understanding of electricity distribution utilities / DSOs, including grid planning, network operations, asset management, smart metering, digitalization, and procurement stakeholders.
- Translate utility challenges - low-voltage observability, grid congestion, hosting capacity, DER integration, network reinforcement costs, and flexibility management - into prioritized market opportunities and use cases.
- Assess customer buying processes, tender requirements, regulatory drivers, technology adoption barriers, and commercial decision criteria across priority markets.
- Engage directly with utility customers, partners, and field teams to validate product-market fit and uncover unmet needs.
Product Positioning & Go-to-Market
- Own market segmentation, positioning, value propositions, and go-to-market plans for Corinex’s integrated hardware, connectivity, sensing, and software solutions.
- Develop differentiated messaging for grid visibility, grid intelligence, digital twins, capacity planning, grid flexibility, and operational decision support.
- Translate technical capabilities into measurable outcomes for DSOs, including improved network visibility, greater asset utilization, faster connection decisions, and more targeted capital investment.
- Lead commercial launch readiness for new products and solution enhancements, including target use cases, competitive differentiation, field enablement, and post-launch learning.
Solution Commercialization & Technology Partnerships
- Work with Product, Engineering, and external technology partners to position integrated solutions that connect physical-grid data, digital-twin models, grid analytics, and flexibility management.
- Support joint go-to-market initiatives and coordinated solution messaging for partner-enabled offerings, including Corinex Plexigrid Intelligence.
- Translate utility system integration requirements and relevant workflows involving AMI, GIS, SCADA, ADMS, DERMS, and grid management platforms into clear solution narratives.
- Provide market and customer insights to inform product roadmaps, feature priorities, packaging, and commercialization decisions; work collaboratively with technical owners rather than replacing their engineering responsibilities.
Utility Sales Enablement & Commercial Support
- Partner closely with Sales and Business Development on complex utility sales cycles, account strategies, customer workshops, demonstrations, technical presentations, and tender / RFP responses.
- Create persuasive, technically accurate product presentations, solution briefs, business-case narratives, competitive battlecards, customer case studies, and objection-handling resources.
- Support utility business cases by articulating operational benefits, implementation considerations, total cost of ownership, and economic value relative to traditional grid reinforcement or alternative technologies.
- Tailor messaging to technical and commercial audiences, including distribution engineers, grid planners, utility executives, innovation leaders, and procurement teams.
Market Intelligence, Leadership & Execution
- Track utility market developments, smart-grid standards, electrification trends, relevant policy and regulatory developments, and competitive approaches to distribution-grid visibility and flexibility.
- Evaluate the positioning of comparable grid technology offerings and synthesize actionable market intelligence for product and commercial leadership.
- Coordinate cross-functional delivery with Sales, Engineering, Product Development, and Corporate Marketing; take personal ownership of key deliverables in a lean, international organization.
- Define practical success measures for product marketing, including launch readiness, utility engagement, sales enablement effectiveness, adoption indicators, and influence on qualified pipeline.
Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy, Business, Marketing, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
- Typically 8+ years of progressive experience in the electric utility / grid technology sector, including product marketing, product management, solution commercialization, utility strategy, business development, or a closely related customer-facing role.
- Direct professional experience working for an electricity distribution utility / DSO, or a proven record bringing technical solutions to market for DSO / electric utility customers. Utility-sector experience is essential.
- Working understanding of distribution-grid operations and challenges, including low- and medium-voltage networks, electrification, DERs, grid constraints, and digitalization.
- Demonstrated ability to convert complex power-grid technology into clear market positioning, utility-relevant use cases, value propositions, and commercially effective materials.
- Experience engaging utility decision makers and navigating long, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales or procurement processes.
- Ability to work effectively with Engineering, Product Development, Sales, and senior leadership while personally executing high-priority projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical thinking, cross-functional leadership, and sound commercial judgment; willingness to travel internationally as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with utility grid planning, operations, asset management, digital transformation, or smart metering programs, ideally in Europe and/or North America.
- Knowledge of grid visibility, distribution-grid digital twins, hosting-capacity analysis, flexibility management, AMI, GIS, SCADA, ADMS, DERMS, or related utility platforms.
- Experience launching and positioning integrated utility hardware/software or grid-edge solutions, rather than only standalone SaaS or consumer products.
- Familiarity with European DSO market dynamics, utility tenders, distribution-grid regulation, and partner-led commercialization.
- Existing relationships within the DSO, grid technology, energy infrastructure, or power-systems ecosystem.
What Success Looks Like
- Utility-specific product positioning and messaging that clearly connects Corinex solutions to real DSO operational and investment priorities.
- Well-executed go-to-market plans for grid intelligence and partner-enabled solutions, supported by strong utility-facing sales materials and business cases.
- Consistent feedback from utility customers and partners that improves product-market fit and informs commercialization priorities.
- Effective coordination among Product Development, Engineering, Sales, Corporate Marketing, and technology partners, resulting in measurable commercial progress.
