About the Opportunity
We're recruiting on behalf of an established retail and health & wellness organization based in Surrey, BC.
The company combines professional expertise with a people-first approach, helping customers improve their health, comfort, and everyday lives. With a collaborative marketing team and plenty of real-world stories to share, this is an opportunity to play a key role in how the brand connects with its audience.
About the Role
We're looking for a creative, curious storyteller who knows how to make content people want to engage with. You have a strong understanding of organic social media, a talent for finding interesting stories, and a passion for testing new ideas and using data to improve results.
Think part content creator, part journalist, and part strategist. You'll get to know the organization's people, products, and customers, asking thoughtful questions and finding fresh ways to show what makes the business different.
You'll own the organization's content program, from planning and creation to publishing and performance. Instagram and Facebook will be your primary focus, but you'll also create content for email campaigns, newsletters, blogs, and other marketing initiatives.
You'll work closely with an established marketing team, with brand guidelines to support your work. We're looking for someone who can take ownership, bring forward ideas, and build a content program that delivers results.
What You'll Do
- Own the organization's content program, including planning, creation, publishing, and optimization across channels.
- Lead its organic social media presence, primarily on Instagram and Facebook, with a focus on building engagement and brand awareness.
- Research topics, interview employees and subject matter experts, and uncover stories that show what makes the organization different.
- Develop and manage a content calendar that balances educational, entertaining, inspirational, and promotional content.
- Create engaging content, including Reels, short-form and long-form videos, photography, carousels, and written posts.
- Visit company locations and attend community events to capture content, conduct interviews, and tell stories firsthand.
- Write and adapt content for email campaigns, newsletters, blogs, and other marketing initiatives.
- Manage day-to-day social media publishing, scheduling, and community engagement.
- Stay current with social media trends, audience interests, and platform best practices. Bring forward new ideas and opportunities.
- Act as a brand champion, ensuring all content reflects the organization's voice, values, visual identity, and positioning.
- Track content performance, test new approaches, and share results and recommendations with marketing leadership.
What You Bring
- Proven experience managing organic social media and creating content that drives audience engagement and growth.
- A strong portfolio of social-first content, particularly for Instagram, that demonstrates both creative quality and results.
- Excellent writing, interviewing, and storytelling skills, with a natural curiosity and ability to find interesting angles.
- A strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, content formats, and organic growth strategies.
- Experience creating and editing photography, short-form and long-form video, and written content.
- Confidence interviewing people, capturing content on location, and making non-actors feel comfortable on camera.
- Experience developing content across multiple channels, including social media, email, and blogs.
- Proficiency with creative tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar platforms.
- Experience with social media analytics, scheduling platforms, content management systems, and email marketing or automation tools.
- A data-driven mindset, with the ability to analyze performance, test new ideas, and communicate recommendations to leadership.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to independently manage content planning, production, and deadlines.
- A genuine interest in health, wellness, lifestyle, and creating content that makes a positive difference in people's lives.
Nice to Have
- Experience in journalism, reporting, or documentary-style storytelling.
- Experience creating content for healthcare, wellness, lifestyle, or retail brands.
- Experience capturing content at events or conducting on-camera interviews.

- A collaborative, supportive marketing team
- Access to professional equipment and real-world stories to tell
